COVID-19 Update for Tenants
North Tyneside Council recognises that coronavirus (COVID-19) is presenting unprecedented challenges for businesses.
The Government has set out a package of temporary, timely and targeted measures through this period of disruption.
This includes the introduction of emergency measures to ensure that commercial tenants who cannot pay their rent because of coronavirus will not be evicted for at least three months. In support of this, the Strategic Property team have temporarily suspended formal debt recovery action when rents are overdue – please be aware that reminders will continue to be issued
