Unversal Credit migration notice letters

Some residents may have received a letter from the Department of Work and Pensions on 'migration notices' from legacy benefits over to Universal Credit.

The following benefits are ending and are being replaced by Universal Credit:

  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

Other benefits, such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP), will stay the same.

So far, the changeover for the majority of these benefits has not yet started and there is no action to be taken.

If you have received a migration notice from the national government, please follow the actions on the letter or you could be at risk of missing out on benefits.

More information on the migration and Universal Credit can be found on the Government's website here.
