The Community Right to Challenge allows voluntary and community groups, charities or two or more Council employees to submit an expression of interest to bid to run services currently provided by the Council.
To assist the Council in dealing effectively with expressions of interest the Council has set dates during which it will receive and consider them and take other steps associated with the process.
The Council will receive and consider expressions of interest under the Community Right to Challenge on an annual basis and between the dates of 1st June and 31st July.
The Council's response to expressions of interest will be determined and the outcome notified to the submitting body within six months of receipt.
Any procurement process resulting from the acceptance of an expression of interest will begin:
- A - no sooner than 3 months and no later than 6 months from the date of acceptance for contracts with an estimated value of less than £500,000
- B - no sooner than 3 months and no later than 12 months from the date of acceptance for contracts with an estimated value in excess of £500,000
