Charging speeds
There are three main charging speeds:
- Slow charging – defined as a charge rate less than 7 kW. It takes 6 – 12 hours to fully charge your vehicle
- Fast charging – defined as a charge rate of between 7kW and 22kW. It takes 2 – 6 hours to fully charge your car
- Rapid charging – defined as a charge rate of more than 22kW. Usually takes 20 – 30 minutes to provide a charge of up to 80%
Charging times vary from vehicle to vehicle and may be longer than those quoted as not all vehicles are able to accept charge at the maximum rate that the post can deliver. Please consult your vehicle handbook for details.
