Entry Requirements
Entrants must possess a good honours degree (i.e. 2:2 or above) from a UK university or a recognised equivalent qualification upon commencement of the course. The degree subject does not have to be related to this course, but the entrant's previous education must provide the necessary foundation for work as a primary school teacher.
To that end, it is also a requirement upon application that applicants have already secured the equivalent of a grade C at GCSE in Mathematics, English Language and a science subject. Original certificates will be required as proof of qualifications.
Entrants must have had at least two weeks recent and relevant experience of working with young children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, before attending interview.
When completing your application form you must include within your personal statement the reason(s) as to why you wish to teach young children. We will also need details of all recent and relevant experience with children (i.e. length of time and dates need be included.) We are particularly interested in your experience with children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage One.
