Local election results 2021

Voters in North Tyneside have re-elected Mayor Norma Redfearn CBE for a third term.

Local councillors have also been elected for 20 wards in the borough.

A local election was held on May 7 and 8, 2021 to determine the Elected Mayor of North Tyneside as well as which councillors would represent 20 wards in the borough. The turnout for the local elections was 39.8 per cent.

The political make up of the council is now:

Labour: 51
Conservative: 9

Voters in North Tyneside also voted in the Police and Crime Commissioner election. The results were: 

Kim McGuiness (LAB) 32,696 Julian Kilburn (IND) 4,469 Peter Maughan (LIB DEM) 4,001 Duncan Crute, (CON) 19,781.

The turnout in the PCC election was 39.5 per cent.
