Formed in Birmingham in 1989, the band were a mainstay of Britpop with three top five albums: Moseley Shoals, Marchin’ Already and One From The Modern.

Last year, they released a career-spanning box set which contained all their studio albums along with five bonus CDs, totalling 230 tracks.

Councillor Carl Johnson, North Tyneside’s Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for culture, tourism, and events said: “This promises to be a very special night with a really great band and a show packed with songs many people know and love.

“With Rick Astley’s show sold out and more announcements to come, this year’s festival is shaping up to truly be one to remember.”
