Hundreds of jobs and training opportunities will be featured at North Tyneside Council during National Apprenticeship Week, 5 – 11 February.
National Apprenticeship Week celebrations in North Tyneside will culminate with the annual Get Up and Go Apprenticeship Fair, hosted in North Tyneside Council offices, Cobalt Park on Saturday 10 February, between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
The fair will showcase more than 40 of the leading employers and training providers in the borough, representing a range of occupations and sectors.
Featured employers will include Northumbria Healthcare, Newcastle Building Society, Nexus and North Tyneside Council.
Anyone interested in finding out more about apprenticeships is invited to attend, including school and college leavers or anyone looking for a new opportunity to train in the workplace.
Young people, parents and carers, or anyone interested in an apprenticeship can drop by the fair at any point during its duration, at no cost and for any length of time.
Councillor Steven Phillips, Cabinet Member responsible for Education, Inclusion, Employment and Skills at North Tyneside Council, said: “The Get Up and Go Fair is a fantastic way for young people in North Tyneside to discover and access apprenticeship opportunities.
“An apprenticeship can be such a rewarding route into employment, offering real on the job experience and expert training and instruction.
“Some of the top employers in North Tyneside attend the Get Up and Go fair hoping to find their next recruits; it’s an opportunity not to be missed if you’re considering an apprenticeship.
“I would urge anyone who is interested in developing practical skills for work to come along and find out what’s on offer.”
