North Tyneside Council’s business support programme, The Business Factory, invites local businesses to its first Exposition.
The Business Factory is North Tyneside Council’s business support programme, for aspiring entrepreneurs and established businesses and social enterprises.
The programme, which was refreshed in 2023, supports residents to develop their business idea, explore entrepreneurship, or grow their existing business or social enterprise.
The service is now offering support through a new website and online Business Toolbox, boasting free business ideas, resources, diagnostic tools and more, accessible 24/7.
Also available is a refreshed programme of workshops, designed to inspire big ideas, give residents a toolkit to start their own business, develop a business plan, or grow an existing business or social enterprise.
And now, The Business Factory, in partnership with North Tyneside Business Forum, is inviting local businesses to its first Exposition, showcasing all that the service has to offer and more.
The Expo is an opportunity for local businesses and social enterprises to find out how The Business Factory can help them; to discover upcoming workshops, find out more about regional business support programmes available to them, and explore online tools.
The Expo will take place on Thursday 14 March, at Percy Park Rugby Club in North Shields, between 9.15am and 12.30pm.
Attendees will hear from The Business Factory team about the programme and will get the chance to network with the service’s delivery partners, Innovation Super Network and Junction Point CIC, and other local businesses.
Speakers will include representatives from North Tyneside Business Forum, which connects businesses in the borough and provides peer-to-peer networking opportunities.
Keynote speaker and North Shields Personal Trainer, David Fairlamb, will leave attendees feeling inspired as he draws on over 30 years’ experience positively changing people’s lives.
David will talk through client success stories and illustrate how his ‘sugar clean lean’ program has changed lives, both physically and mentally, inspiring confidence and self-esteem among his clients.
Councillor Carl Johnson, Deputy Mayor of North Tyneside, said: “The Business Factory is a fantastic source of support for businesses and social enterprises in North Tyneside.
“The refreshed programme teaches businesses to strive forward, supporting the development and sustainability of enterprise in our area.
“I’d really encourage businesses and social enterprises, of any size, to come along to the Exposition; it’s an amazing opportunity to network and discover what support is out there.”
Michael James, Chair of North Tyneside Business Forum said: “The Forum is all about connecting and support businesses; we are delighted to be partnering with the Council on this Expo event to promote all of the business support options available to our business community.”
Businesses can find out more and confirm their attendance on The Business Factory Website.
Residents interested in starting a business or social enterprise can look out for information about The Business Factory’s second, resident-focused exposition, due to take place in April.
The Business Factory is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the North of Tyne Combined Authority as the lead authority.
