Heather Small, the voice of M People, is the fourth headline artist announced for this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival, organised by North Tyneside Council.
The award-winning singer tops the bill for the annual Sunday afternoon concert at the spectacular Tynemouth Priory and Castle on Sunday 14 July 2024.
Achieving worldwide success both as a solo artist and the voice of M People, Heather is best known for hits including Moving On Up, One Night in Heaven, How Can I Love You More?, Sight for Sore Eyes, and Proud.
She has sold millions of records, enjoyed 18 Top 40 singles, three Top 10 albums, and comes to the festival for the first time.
The full line-up for the day which runs between 11.45am and 6pm will be announced soon.
Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday at See Tickets and Ticketmaster.
Councillor Carl Johnson, North Tyneside’s Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “We are very excited to bring Heather to the festival as she’s a truly iconic artist with so many songs people know and love.
“Our Sunday concert is always extremely popular with families and its great to see visitors and residents coming together to enjoy themselves in such an amazing setting.”
The annual Mouth of the Tyne Festival is organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by Port of Tyne and Shop NT.
Turning 18 next year, the event will return to Tynemouth village with its usual mix of music, street entertainment and special one-off performances.
Heather joins the previously announced Ocean Colour Scene, Rick Astley and Andrew Cushin who also play evening concerts at the coastal venue.
