Local Plan Main Modifications Consultation

The Main Modifications were prepared in response to the issues raised through representations to the Local Plan and during the examination hearing sessions that commenced in November and December 2016.

Consultation was then invited on these modifications. All those who had responded to the Local Plan previously were notified directly either by email or letter. Documents were placed on the Council’s website and in the following locations:
- Quadrant, North Tyneside Council Offices, Cobalt Business Park
- Wallsend Library
- Whitley Bay Library
- White Swan Centre Killingworth
- North Shields / Central Library

Due do the legal nature of the process, all representations had to be made in writing and relating to a specific modification reference.
All responses, along with comments from the Council can be found in the report below. This report was sent to the government planning inspector who then considered the responses to the consultation before issuing a final report recommending adoption of the Local Plan with inclusion of the main modifications.
