Swim Open Days 2017-2018

Sports and Leisure are taking part in the Swim Local Pilot which is a project funded by Sport England to look at ways to increase swimming in the community. As part of this project one of the barriers we were looking to overcome was to ‘improve access to our facilities’. So to do this we wanted to organise Swim Open Days at the four pools in the borough removing the barrier of cost to swimming and looking to get some new members of the community into the facilities for the first time. To review the success of these swim open days we monitored the number of attendees at reception and also had an exit questionnaire. The questionnaires were completed by attendees at each open day. The aim of the exit questionnaire was to find out more about the users, were they 1st time users, where had they come from, who did they attend with, some demographic information and where did they hear about the event? This information was collected through a tick box survey. The data from each open day is being used to review the marketing strategy and future operations.
