Review of Statement of Licensing Policy (Gambling)
Consultation details
This is the 3 yearly review of the Councils Gambling Policy. The Gambling Act 2005 states that the Council must produce a Licensing Policy Statement in relation to how it will deal with the licensing of gambling premises within North Tyneside. Statements were previously consulted on in 2015.
Approval to consult going to Cabinet 14 May. Will return to Cabinet after consultation and then decision by Council November 2018, to be in force by 31 January 2019.
Please tell us what you think should be included or not included to ensure that it accurately reflects the local balance between the commercial interests of the local trade, the communities they serve and the impact upon them. Comments are welcome on all parts of the Policy, in particular, as part of this review the Council will also be considering the current ‘no casino’ resolution. Your views on these issues are sought as part of this consultation exercise.
