Draft policy on proposals to restrict certain activities on Council land

North Tyneside Council is seeking your views on a new policy which, if adopted, will mean that certain types of activities will not be permitted on land that it owns propose to implement a policy that lists non-permitted activities on land owned or controlled by North Tyneside Council
North Tyneside Council is committed to ensuring that its parks , beaches and other open spaces are enjoyable and safe places for residents and visitors alike to enjoy while at the same time protecting the environment and wildlife.
The aim of the policy is to tackle a number of activities that have been taking place within North Tyneside
- Balloon releases and sky lanterns
- Camping
- Bonfires and unauthorised fire pits
- The unauthorised release of fireworks
- The riding or racing of quadbikes, motorbikes and mopeds
- Intrusive metal detecting
- The use of UAVs or drones
The Policy relates to land owned or controlled by North Tyneside Council and specifically:
- Our beaches.
- Our parks.
- Our country parks.
- Incidental areas of public open space.
- Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI’s) e.g., St Mary’s Headland.
