Proposed Zebra Crossing, and Road Humps
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it proposes to make a variation order under Sections 1, 2, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, if made, will be to vary the following order as detailed below:
the North Tyneside (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2022, so that:
1. The following No stopping between 8.15am-9.15am and 3.00pm-4.00pm, Monday to Friday to be revoked from:
a) Item 22 - Denbigh Avenue, Howdon
(ii) West side, from a point 78 metres north of its junction with Grosvenor Gardens to a point 122 metres north of that junction.
(iii) North east side, from a point 22 metres north west of its junction with Radnor Gardens to a point 29 metres south east of that junction.
b) Item 58 - Radnor Gardens, Wallsend on both sides, from its junction with Denbigh Avenue to a point 14 metres east of that junction.
The following No stopping between 8.15am-9.15am and 3.00pm-4.00pm, Monday to Friday restrictions be introduced on sections of the following roads:
Denbigh Avenue, Howdon on the
West side, from a point 65 metres north of its junction with Grosvenor Gardens to a point 90 metres north of that junction
East side, from a point 24 metres north of its junction with Grosvenor Gardens to a point 49 metres north of that junction
East side, from its junction with Radnor Gardens to a point 28 metres south of that junction.
Radnor Gardens, Wallsend South side, from its junction with Denbigh Avenue to a point 14 metres east of that junction.
Both sides, for its full extents.
In accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 it proposes to construct road humps on Denbigh Avenue in Howdon at the following points:
45 metres south from its junction with Grosvenor Gardens
23 metres north from its junction with Grosvenor Gardens
32 metres south from its junction with Monmouth Gardens
32 metres north from its junction with Monmouth Gardens
The dimensions of the proposed raised tables are Width varying between 3.4 to 4m, subject to carriageway widths, Height – 75-100mm, Ramp gradients to be 1 in 13 and Side gradients to be 1 in 4.
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it proposes under Section 23(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, it proposes to establish a new Zebra crossing at:
Denbigh Avenue, Howdon – at a point 11 metres north of its junction with Radnor Gardens
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it proposes In accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 to install a raised table on Denbigh Avenue. The raised table will extend to the following points;
Denbigh Avenue, Howdon – at a point 11 metres north of its junction with Radnor Gardens in a northerly direction for a distance of 10 metres
The dimensions of the proposed raised table are that the Width across the highway to be full width of carriageway, Height to be 75-100mm and
Ramp gradients to be 1 in 13.
The proposals will increase safety for all road users and contribute to ensuring that highway conditions are conducive to support greater usage of cycling, walking and wheeling.
