Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2024
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (Billy Mill Lane, Glanton Road & Lynn Road, North Shields) 2024 under Sections 1, 2, 9 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to introduce:
No Waiting Restrictions – At Any Time on
B1316 Lynn Road, North Shields on its
South side, from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Billy Mill Lane, to a point 16 metres east of that junction.
Billy Mill Lane, North Shields on its
West side, from a point 29 metres south of its junction with B1316 Lynn Road, to a point 37 metres south of that junction
East side, from a point 37 metres south of its junction with B1316 Lynn Road, to a point 48 metres south of that junction
East side, from a point 12 metres north of its junction with Glanton Road, to a point 14 metres south of that junction
West side, from a point 87 metres south of its junction with B1316 Lynn Road to a point 108 metres south of that junction.

North side, from its junction with Billy Mill Lane to a point 22 metres east of that junction.
South side, from its junction with Billy Mill Lane to a point 17 metres east of that junction.
The Order will come into force on 18 November 2024 for a period not exceeding 12 months when the Council will decide whether to make an order to continue indefinitely the provisions of the experimental order. Any person may submit an objection to the making of such an order at that time.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions contained within it, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred on the Council by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, you may within six weeks from 8 November 2024 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
