We would like you to help shape the Elected Mayor and Cabinet’s refreshed vision for the borough – aimed at building a better North Tyneside.

In May Norma Redfearn CBE was elected for a third term and announced her Cabinet members the following week.

Now, the Council Plan is being updated to reflect the priorities for the Mayor and Cabinet over the next four years, taking into account the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the borough. 

Following several successful bids for funding, North Tyneside Council is seeking views on plans to provide around 14km of new cycling routes across the Borough including an option for the first ‘Dutch-style’ roundabout in the region. The council has secured nearly £1.6m from the Government’s Active Travel Fund (ATF) and £7million from the Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) for cycling improvements.

North Tyneside Council is reviewing its Adults Social Care Contributions Policy. This is the amount of money a person is asked to contribute towards their social care support.
